Christan and Ryan

June 2, 2017

How did you meet each other?

We met through mutual friends while attending Siena College.

Tell us about the proposal!

On our way up to Saratoga during the end of August 2015, Ryan suggested that it would be fun to stop at Siena on the way. We walked around and reminisced, taking photos and looking at the beautiful campus. He led me to one location that was special to us and proposed right there with what would be our wedding song playing in the background. Immediately after I said yes, our parents, my best college roommates and our families were there to surprise us and celebrate. Of course a college proposal isn’t complete until campus security shows up to see what the commotion was about, but luckily they were congratulatory and let us sneak some champagne!

Why did you select The Vineyards as your wedding venue?

Ryan and I both wanted to get married on a vineyard, but some of the options we had looked at were too out of our price range and seemed complicated to arrange. When we saw The Vineyards, it was the perfect mix between location, scenery, but with the convenience of having an amazing chef and staff already built into the venue. We loved that we would be the only wedding there and the staff were so friendly and accommodating when we visited. We knew right way that we wanted to celebrate our big day there.

The color scheme for the wedding party was blue and blush. The flowers were done by Elegant Designs by Joy who was incredible and made the most amazing centerpieces and bouquets that matched the blush tones with a mix of green to make them stand out. Our DJ was Big Hits Entertainment, our photographer was Yellow House Images. I would recommend all of our vendors over and over again, they truly made the day perfect and they were very familiar with The Vineyards venue and were so professional. My dress was Pnina Tornai from Kleinfeld Bridal in the city, bridesmaids wore Bari Jay. Ryan and the groomsmen wore Ryan Seacrest suits from Macy’s.

What is one piece of advice you would give to couples planning their wedding?

Remember that at the end of the day its all about the two people getting married. Things will go wrong, it can get a little hectic, but always remember to take a step back and look at the big picture of what’s most important. In the end, it’s all about getting family and friends together to eat, drink, dance, and celebrate!

How would you rate your wedding?

10 out of 10!

All Images By Yellow House Images.

Review from The Knot:

The Vineyard Caterers blew away my expectations. We first looked at The Vineyards in October 2015 and fell in love with the location and the fact that it was a catering hall on a vineyard (a great compromise if you are looking for a beautiful location but not the hassle of bringing in everything yourself). The venue looked fine when we saw it in October of 2015, but Lessings came in and finished their updates just in time for our June 2 wedding. They did an amazing job with the decor, paint, furniture, etc. Kate who is the Sales Director now for the venue was wonderful. She answered every question I had was so responsive and helpful. She is so organized and detailed which made the final process stress free. On the day of our wedding, Russ and Kate were there to greet my husband and I to ensure everything was running smoothly. At one point, red wine had spilled on my mom’s dress and Russ was right there with seltzer and a cloth on his hands and knees scrubbing it out. The food, the drinks, the service, the grounds, the location all 5 stars. Everyone could not get over how beautiful the outdoor patio/cocktail hour room looked. Being the only wedding there made a huge difference as all the attention was focused on us and our guests. We had the best day of our lives and a lot of it was thanks to The Vineyards.
