spotlight couple: janine + peter
Note: As many of our readers know, aside from blogging, I work at The Vineyards at Aquebogue as a Sales Director, booking, planning, and coordinating weddings. More often than not, with a hectic schedule, I am not able to stay for the duration of each wedding. I leave all of the details in very experienced and capable Maitre 'd hands. For this particular couple, I had the pleasure working with them with details up until the wedding, stayed for their event, and ate some cake, too! Congratulations again, Janine and Peter! You guys are awesome and remind me why I love what I do.

The Vineyards at Aquebogue
How did you meet each other?
We were introduced through my cousin's husband. Roberto thought that Peter and I would be a great match, and we hit it off right away.
Tell us about the proposal!
Peter proposed in Turks Caicos at a candle light dinner over looking the entire island. It was purely magical and an absolute dream come true.
Why did you select The Vineyards as your wedding venue?
The Vineyards offered a picturesque setting. We really wanted an outdoor wedding and absolutely fell in love with the beautiful grounds. We loved the rustic feel and overall laid back vibe of the venue.

We wanted an elegant and classic look so our colors were pale pink and white. My dress was completely lace with a beaded neckline by Allure Couture. I purchased my dress from Wedding Dresser Couture by Vassa in Woodmere who is absolutely fabulous. Peter's suit was custom made by Janine Giorgenti of Giorgenti custom clothing in Garden City made of fine linen. Our flowers were created by Sonja of Black Dahlias. Stunning floral arrangements made with exquisite artistic vision. For our ceremony we had a cellist and a violist. Our DJ was through New York Nights Entertainment who offered an amazing electric violinist. Our photographer was through the incredible Jay Lim Studios in Westbury. Videography was by Mittermax films, who did an amazing job.
What is one piece of advice you would give to couples planning their wedding?
It goes too fast!! Do your best to greet all your guests as hard as it is. Get a videographer, after it's all said and done all you to remember the day by is the photos and video! Remember that everything will not go as planned so just try to go with the flow!
